Grafton Schools – Parent Café on Technology

Join the first Parent Café Technology discussion on Tuesday May 13 at 7 pm at the John Long Middle School, Library Media Center, 700 Hickory St, Grafton WI, 53024. Light refreshments will be served. All parents who attend will receive a parent starter guide to understanding your child’s use of social media and technology.

  • Are you interested in connecting with other parents to learn how others manage technology in their homes?
  • Do you want to share concerns and strategies for using devices, apps, texting, and video games?
  • Are you interested in knowing more about your kids using social media safely and appropriately?

The model used for these meetings will be the “World Café ” format with informal small discussion groups followed by a whole group sharing. Our plan is to host quarterly sessions over the next year.

Grafton Schools is partnering with Common Ground of Southeastern Wisconsin to support parent and community discussion of the role of technology in families. The issue of discussion is technology’s influence (both negative and positive) on children, schools and families and finding or sharing ways we can best manage the impact of technology on our lives.

If you would like to attend or have questions, please email Rick Seybold, Director of Technology, Grafton School District, or Rusty Borkin, Organizer with Southeastern WI Common Ground
