Based on many meetings with parents and community members in Ozaukee County schools, community centers and churches the need to address technology’s disruptive influence on children and families has become clear. Unfortunately terms like “digital addiction,” “sexting” and “cyber bullying” have become commonplace and few resources available. This has led to Common Ground’s Digital Family Initiative, with a goal of helping families manage technology in ways that build stronger relationships and enhance individual development.
As a community we need to share, learn and act together so that lives and relationships are protected and technology’s enormous benefits realized. This brief survey is an effort to extend the reach of the conversation and involve the entire community in discovering our shared issues and potential solutions.
No personal information is required and you are welcome to include your contact information if you would like more information or to get involved in this effort.
