On August 14, 2015, Common Ground was featured in a New York Times article “Bucks’ Owners Win, at Wisconsin’s Expense” by Michael Powell. In it, powell explains how the billionaire owners of the Milwaukee Bucks have demanded that the public foot the bill for their new arena and how Common Ground has fought to make them pay for it themselves.
The article quotes our lead organizer, Keisha Krumm, Common Ground member Bob Connolly, and Assemblyman Jonathan Brostoff, among others.
“We are building an arena for two of the richest people in the U.S.A. and they are just asking for more,” Brostoff said.
“If aliens came down and looked at this, they’d say, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ ”
