Jim Honig is a Lutheran pastor with over 30 years of parish experience, having served congregations in Missouri, Florida, the Chicago suburbs, and now in Door County, Wisconsin. While in Illinois, Jim was an active leader with DuPage United, an IAF organization of institutions working together at the local level to create new capacity for leadership development, citizen-led action and relationships across the lines that often divide our communities. In addition to serving as a leader and trainer in congregation based organizing, Jim has facilitated planning retreats for congregations and non-profit organizations. He is passionate about empowering congregations to engage the mission to which God has called them. He holds a Certificate in Community Organizing and Congregational Development from Johnson C. On May 9th we will attend the MPS School Board budget meeting to show our support for including $75,000 in the 2019-2020 facilities budget for the design and bid phase of the Washington field renovation.
LOCATION: MPS District Offices, 5225 W Vliet St., Milwaukee
Washington High School’s outdoor athletic space is in desperate need of updates. The students and the ShermanPark residents deserve a great place to meet, compete, exercise, and play. We’ve got a plan and we are working with students, staff, and residents to make it happen. With $1.3 million we will be able to put in an artificial turf field, rubberized track, and basketball courts. Common Ground is committed to leveraging the necessary public and private funds. Let’s make sure $75,000 for the next phase of Washington’s field renovation is included in the 2019-2020 MPS facilities budget.
